Cowboy Joe & Trail Jazz
Swingtown

This is a brand new CD of 16 tunes put together by Cowboy Joe Babcock and Trail Jazz. Joe wrote and is vocalist on 15 of the 16 with the remaining Take Your Troubles All to Jesus, a sacred tune, was written along with Jim Glazer. The album features many wonderful and talented musicians.

These musicians include many familiar names on this album. It features the steel guitar playing of Doug Jernigan. The fiddle players are Tiger Bell, Jim Buchanan and Tommy Williams. The guitars are those of Jimmy Capps, Glen Dickerson, Andy Reiss and also Cowboy Joe. There are also the bassists, Chris Latham, Rick Boyer and Billy Linneman, the pianos of Roger Morris, Mitch Walker and Hargis (Pig) Robbins and drummer Jerry Johnston. There are many background vocalists.

The album opens with a Bob Wills tribute and future top 10 song, Swing on Down to Swing Town and closes with a reprise and credits to the wonderful musicians. The ballads include Nobody Ever Loved You Like I Do, The World’s Saddest Song, Why Did I Ever Leave My Happy Home and If You See My Heart Today. Joe also wrote three Texas dance hall tunes that are included, Second Best Solution, The Road of No Return and You Make it Easy to Sin. Also included from Joe’s pen is the gem Back in the Swing of Things, the waltz, The Band Has Stopped Playing and the inspirational Western Swing salute The Lord Loves Western Swing. The remaining three tunes really swing. They are I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Milk Gravy and He’s Got a Way With the Women.

The album can be obtained on CD Baby, Amazon, or by googling Cowboy Joe & Trail Jazz.
